This male Shepherd mix was picked up as a stray by Lee County Animal Control. I am going to name him Dingo. He was found roaming in the Dryden area. If you own this dog or know who owns it then call the shelter at 276-346-7710. The best time to call or visit is before 10am. Dingo has until the 11th to be claimed or he can be put down. Unfortunately I have not had a chance to post him till this evening. Hoping that he will be seen before tomorrow. If you cannot reach the shelter then call Audrey Osborne at 276-346-3867. LEE COUNTY DOG POUND:: Male 2 year old pit bull.. Court case, Dog is now turned over to Animal Control and can go down at anytime..... This dog was cruility case - he was starved.... He has been in Lee County Va. pound for over 200 days... Had several interested in him that visited the pound... He is free to go now... As the pound fills up - he will have to go... Huckleberry or 'Huck' as i have named him showed up at my residence on August 25th and no one has claimed him as of yet. Very friendly dog that gets along with my male Great Dane and my Boxer mix who is also a male. Does get possessive around food but what dog doesn't. Susie is a female fiest/beagle mix. She was found roaming on Long Leaf road. This is in the Rose Hill area. We think she is about 1 year old. If you know who owns this dog or you are the owner of this dog then you need to call the Lee County Animal Control before the 28th. Their number is 276-346-7710. It is best to call before 10am. The shelter is closed on Sundays and holidays. If you are interested in adopting this dog or you are a rescue interested in this dog then you need to call before the 28th as well. UPDATE!! This dog is no longer in the shelter but in the custody of Audrey Osborne and Lee Fosters Rescue!! This black and white terrier mix is currently in the Lee County Animal Shelter. It is a high kill shelter that has to make room for other dogs once it is full. This dog has until August 5th to be reclaimed. If not he can be put down. If you are interested in adopting him then you will need to make arrangements with them as well before that date so he can be saved from euthanization.
